The Poupart IT department has a long term IT strategy in place which covers 4 main areas; infrastructure, support, programming and system analysis.
Over the past few years systems progression within the Poupart Group has moved at a very fast pace. The systems in place are Microsoft Dynamics Nav and a bespoke web portal. The web portal has been developed in house and gives a great deal of control and flexibility. These systems enable us to have full integration with our suppliers and packers. Poupart was selected by Microsoft for the 2008 Customer Excellence Award for Distribution Leadership because of its innovative use of these Microsoft technologies to deliver measurable benefits to our organisation and customers. Regular upgrades/refreshes ensure that the latest technologies are in use. Resilience is provided in all areas. In the event that a site is compromised a dedicated Disaster Recovery facility has been designed and is on standby for implementation. Critical systems will be available within 4 hours and all others will be back on line within 24 hours. Due to the investments made Poupart have the IT capacity to match a substantial increase in turnover.
Historically the Poupart group of companies have only provided technical advice to their suppliers but are now also providing IT consultancy and implementation services. Since 2007 IT audits have been carried out with some suppliers and a new infrastructure and Microsoft Dynamics Nav implementation was carried out for the Hall Hunter Partnership. This initiative is now established as one of the many we offer our supply base.
